Frequently
Asked Questions about Water Trampolines:
How long
does it take to inflate and deflate?
The most common method for inflation
is the shop vac. An adapter is included with the Aqua Jump, that goes between
the valve and the hose on the shop vac. Inflation time takes approximately
30 minutes and depends upon the size of the Aqua Jump and the size of the
shop vac. Deflation is accomplished in two methods. Simply locking the
valve in the open postion will allow the tube to naturally deflate over
several minutes. This process can be speeded up by using a shop vac in
the vacuum mode to power deflate the tube.
How long
is total set up time?
It takes approximately one hour the
first time to set up the Aqua Jump. This time can be reduced by using several
people and and by experience. This time can also be reduced if the trampoline
surface is left assembled and only the tube needs to be inflated and the
trampoline attached.
What is
the tube material made of?
The tube material is the same high
grade material that is used in ocean going inflatables and high grade white
water rafts. It is 30 ounce, 1000 denier, UV treated, PVC. The valves are
high quality, HARLEY-HARKEN valves.
Can the
product be used in salt water?
Yes, due to the fact the material
is UV treated and the the same as used in ocean going inflatables, as well
as the fact that the springs, V-rings and Trampoline frame are all heavy
duty dipped galvanized steel.
Can the
product be left out in the water?
There are three factors to be considered.
The first is local regulations regarding anchoring. The second is the amount
of vandalism and theft in the area that is kept. And the third and final
one is if it is in an area prone to high seas or high winds. CAUTION:
the Aqua Jump should not be left out if winds are exceeding 15 miles
per hour.
How can
the Aqua Jump anchored?
In the center of the tube is a harness
with a D-ring. It can be anchored with a simple boat anchor that is attached
to the D-ring. In the event that an anchor is not available, any heavy
weight weight of 20 pounds or more can be used.
Can the
Aqua Jump be towed?
It is very easy to tow the Aqua Jump
at slow speed, even by the use of a personal watercraft. CAUTION:
The Aqua Jump is not intended to be a towable pull toy, and under no circumstances,
should the owner try to jump on the trampoline while it is moving.
What should
the water depth be?
The jump should never be used in
less than six feet of water to prevent the chance of injury.
Can the
Aqua Jump be used as a land trampoline?
Yes, but it is not recommended for
this purpose. If it is to be used on land, it should only be on grassy
surfaces, and never on rocks or uneven surfaces. If it is used as a land
trampoline, remember that is will still not have the bounce of a normal
trampoline due to the fact that the tube will absorb most of the energy
of the bouncing.
Are permits
needed?
If the Aqua Jump is anchored out,
it will probably be treated as a swim raft by local authorities. Please
check with your local authorities for regulations regarding swim platforms.
Is the Aqua
Jump patchable and repairable?
Yes, it is patchable, and a repair
kit is included with the shipment of each product. This kit includes the
adhesive and extra peices of fabric in each of the colors that the jump
comes in. In addition, it is repairable and the owners's manual that accompanies
each jump has a complete list of replacement parts and prices. The most
common parts that need to be replaced are the springs and the trampoline
pad surface.
What is
the warranty on the product?
All Rave Sports products have a one
year warranty covering laber and materials from Rave Sports Inc.
How is the
Aqua Jump maintained and stored?
The Aqua Jump tube should be cleaned
with a mild soap and and must be dried completly before storing. We
recommend that the tube be treated
with a PVC protecterant. Look for a product called 303 Protecterant, which
is designed for this purpose.
If rodents are present in the area
where the jump is stored, moth balls should be placed in the vicinity of
the trampoline to deter them from eating it.
