said my mother had one of these (50 years ago) and it worked great
for her and she liked it. We have lots of kitchen knives and I have many
systems to put a razor edge on them. My wife could never seem to make any

makes it work?

Care of the Aladdin Knife Sharpener©
 Draw
the knife blade through the sharpening slot 3 or 4 times with light
downward strokes and your knife is now ready for the most precise carving
and cutting. Very dull knives may require more strokes initially. Keep
your Aladdin clean for uninterrupted, long term service. Wash occasionally
in hot sudsy water (not dishwasher) to remove dust and grease build-up
on sharpening tips. For safety and convenience, mount sharpener on wall,
cutting board, door frame or cabinet at eye level.

| I've had several electric
knife sharpeners over the years, some of them very expensive, but they're
all gone. For the past 30 years I've had, like many other reviewers,
this tiny sharpener inside the pantry door. A couple of swipes of the knife
